Here at Perth Chartered Physiotherapy, our complementary and holistic therapists offer a range of treatments.
Swedish Massage is used to relieve muscle tension and for relaxation. Long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart aid circulation and promote lymphatic return. These gentle techniques are good for increasing oxygen levels in the area treated and removing toxins from the surrounding tissues.
Remedial Massage has been used for many years as treatment for physical issues. A variety of techniques can be used for a number of effects such as relief of pain and stress, increasing flexibility and breaking down fibrous and scar tissue.
Sports Massage utilises many techniques depending on the stage of training or competition. Our massage therapists can help with recovery from intense training sessions, preparing prior to competition, maintenance during competition as well as with recovery after competition.
Indian Head Massage focuses on the head, neck, shoulders, upper back and arms. It is a wonderfully relaxing therapy and is given without the need to undress. Benefits can include relieving tension, encouraging deep relaxation, promoting clarity and increased concentration, relieving anxiety, tension and stress, relieving sleeplessness, restlessness and insomnia.
Clinical Reflexology is a natural holistic therapy using a mixture of light touch and gentle pressure to reflex areas on the feet and hands. These reflex points relate to specific organs and systems of the body. Benefits can include relief of pain, relief of anxiety, tension and stress and encouraging deep relaxation.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that can also promote healing. The practitioner gently places their hands in a series of positions on or near the body. Benefits can include relief from aches and pains, increased energy and vitality, easing of emotional distress and deep relaxation.
